A Very, very long day . . .
. . . and we were at least fresh at this time (flight from Charlotte to Dublin (not Manchester as originally planned))
View out Janice's window of Ireland as we flew across.
Just outside of the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. We really didn't get much sleep on the plane. We arrived at about 1:30 PM local time, we'd been up a little over 25 hours at this point.
Our hotel (Ambassador City Center) is across the street from the Grote of St. Bavokerk (Great Church of St. Bavo) in Haarlem. The image above is the church, not our hotel!!
View of the hotel courtyard from our room window on the 3rd floor.
On Saturdays, the common area around the Great Church is used for a community market. There were stalls with flowers, cheeses, breads, meats, clothing, leather goods, fruits, baked goods, and all sorts of stuff. The above photo and the next four are of various stalls in the market.
So, we did not take a nap or anything after arriving in Haarlem. We went out and had Tapas for dinner and then went back to the hotel. I tried to work on this blog but couldn't hardly keep my eyes open. We decided to call it a day and went to bed at 8PM local time here . . . about 31 hours after we had gotten up on Friday morning in North Carolina. We got up at 8AM and we're over the jet-lag now!
