Thirty Years . . . how quickly it has gone by . . .

DeJankins - not a large company, no NY Stock Exchange investors, no huge brick and mortar wareshouse or administrative buildings, no attention on Shark Tank, just a small business with one employee and several thousand dinosaurs! And a really great run of customers and products for 30 years.

The main reason for starting DeJankins was pretty selfish. I loved figures of prehistoric animals, but was young, newly married with two young children, and all the financial difficulties of many folks in the mid-1990’s. I just didn’t have lots of extra money to spend on great prehistoric figures. So, I decided to start a business, selling dinosaur products to some of my collector friends (for less than retail prices) and in the process I could get one of each of the items I sold for myself! I got my retailers license on June 26th, 1996, and DeJankins became a thing.
