So, when can we expect to see . . . ?

We had an unusual start to the 2014 Dinosaur Collectible season as all of the Safari Ltd. prehistoric items arrived before the new year did!  That has not been the case with any of the other manufacturers.  In fact, the delays that we became so accustomed to seeing last year and the year before have already begun for this year.

Papo has announced that their three new figures, the Archaeopteryx, Dilophosaurus, and young Triceratops have been pushed back from February, March, and April respectively to April, July, and September!  So, we should probably not continue holding our breath.

The two new Bullyland Museum Line figures - Lambeosaurus lambei and Europasaurus holgeri are still expected to be here at DeJankins sometime before the end of February.  Many of you may know of the new Protochirotherium which Bullyland has produced for a museum in Germany.  We at DeJankins are doing what we can to get a supply of these figures to have in stock for you here.  Check back later for updates on this effort.

This first wave of CollectA figures for 2014 are not scheduled to make port in the USA until the end of February or first of March.  By the time they clear customs and are put into inventory by the importer, they expect to have them to us at DeJankins by the third or fourth week of March.

Estimates from Schleich for their four new World of History Dinosaurs (new Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor, Therizinosaurus, and Pentaceratops) is still May.  We will see.

We are all still waiting for the 3rd Expedition (and now also the 4th Expedition) figures from GeoWorld's Jurassic Hunters line.  The prehistoric mammals were supposed to have been ready last year but were delayed because of production issues.  New estimates we have just received are that the 3rd Expedition (prehistoric mammals) will be ready in June.  The estimate for the 4th Expedition figures (prehistoric "sea reptiles" and crocodiles, and the "before dinosaurs" figures) is expected to be 4th quarter (but could go into next year).

Mojö has told us that there will not be any new dinosaurs for 2014 but to expect half a dozen for 2015.  DeJankins will be getting the Mojö Tylacine and Quagga figures in stock soon ( will probably arrive in March).

We are not aware of any new offerings from Kinto for 2014.  We do have some other Kinto items in stock such as the keychain figures and Skull erasers.  Checkout our store for what we have.

FINALLY - after 11 months - we’ve located a source for the Mojö figures. They’re being shipped to us now and should be here before the end of the year.

2014 Already?

In recent years, we’ve all become accustomed to waiting for up to six or seven months into a new year before we see the new prehistoric products from certain manufacturers.

Well, Safari Ltd. is stepping things up a bit for 2014. All of their new 2014 prehistoric items are supposed to be available by the end of JANUARY. That’s right. January.

And they’ve gotten off to a great start. The new Wild Safari Megalodon and Suchomimus figures arrived here at DeJankins this week!

Let that someone special know to contact us and we’ll get these great new pieces sent out in time to be in your stocking for Christmas morning!

Mojö a No Go

We’re afraid we’ve got some bad news for anyone out there who likes the Mojö figures as much as we do. As it turns out, the U.S. supplier won’t be getting Mojö’s 2013 figures, and the trickle-down effect will leave our own shelves empty until we can find a new supplier ourselves. 

We’ll keep you posted- and keep trying to find a way to get these pieces to the States!

GeoWorld 3rd Expedition Now a 2014 Expectation

According to the Director of Sales and Marketing for GeoWorld USA, we have this sad news: 

“Unfortunately, given some production issues in China, we have postponed the release of 3rd Expedition until sometime early 2014.” 

Sad news indeed about these 18 very anticipated prehistoric mammal figures. Of course, as soon as they are available, you will be able to get them from us here at DeJankins.

The most recent word on the availability of the Papo Dimetrodon:  

“I have some bad news, item 55033 (Dimetrodon) was scheduled to be released in June, but Papo has advised that we will not be receiving this item in our warehouse (US Distributor) until early to mid August.”

Well, early August is only a few days away and mid August is only a couple of weeks from now, so that news is easier to bear.

And regarding the final 2013 figures to be seen, the CollectA dinosaurs from Procon: 

“CollectA June releases were being produced for the month of June 2013. Our shipping container is scheduled to ship July 15th. It takes 30 days overseas to receive the container, anticipated mid August 2013. We are to begin shipping orders end of August or beginning of September.”

It seems that delays are the name of the game right now. But we have waited this long .... we’ll just have to wait a bit longer.

Papo Dimetrodon, A Bit Sluggish

Papo’s Dimetrodon has been a center of collector conversation already, and is likely to be one of 2013’s most popular pieces. 

And, as popularity goes, it looks like the Dimetrodon will be arriving fashionably late. Initially scheduled to arrive in June, it has just been announced that the figure will not be sent to the US importer until mid-August.

We’ll keep you up to date with news as we hear it, and we’ll be anxious to send the Dimetrodon your way as soon as it arrives in the States!

Favorite Kinto 2.0 is Here!

As most of you know, the original Kinto Favorite Collection figures came out a long time ago. Then, a few years ago, they added a Spinosaurus to the line. Now Kinto has revised all of the figures with new poses and paint, and you, of course, need them in your collection. 

Just to keep you in the loop, these revised figures just climbed off a UPS truck and into our driveway, so we’re ready to send them out as soon as we get your order! Visit the store and let us know which ones you’d like us to mail your way.

The photo we attached to our blog post yesterday was subsequently found to be a forged photo. Some unscrupulous character imposed our business name over a Hamley’s Toy Store photograph. How dare them.

Leaving the Temp

The time has come for DeJankins to leave the “temporary” location we moved to last November. Effective April 6th, we will be at our new (and we hope last) permanent location - in the metropolis of Yadkinville, North Carolina.

We're all Lucky in 2013

Can you believe 2013 is here? The new prehistoric collectibles will be arriving from our favorite manufacturers any day now. Just as we do each year, DeJankins will have all the new 2013 figures at really great prices for you.

The Carnegie Concavenator and Bullyland prehistoric felines should be the first new pieces available, with other Safari, Papo and CollectA figures following over the next few months. The new Schleich dinosaurs will be some of the last to arrive, along with the second wave of CollectA items. Currently, we’re estimating an early summer arrival for those guys. We’re also planning on having new products from Mojö and Kinto Favorite, but we don’t yet have an estimate on their U.S. availability. Rest assured that we’re keeping our ear to the ground for any new information!

Something else you will see in the DeJankins store will be more of the recent collectibles from Europe and the East over the past few years. Figures from the various Simba Predators and DinoFroz lines will be listed as well as most of the One2Play DinoWaurs pieces. Additional Sega Dinosaur King toys and a few Koro Koro figures will also be available. Many (though not all) of these collectibles will have the complete packet and literature which came with the items originally. Keep checking our store for updates!

Also, in appreciation for our customers (...drumroll please...) one of the 2013 figures will have an ULTRA-LOW price. When ordered with any other figure(s) from DeJankins, the CollectA Pachycephalosaurus (due in June) will be free! You can understand why we must limit this to one per customer until we exhaust our supply...but hey we do what we can!
