From one collector to another

First Phase Release: 2011 CollectA

The first round of the 2011 CollectA pieces has finally made it to the US distributor!

They were delayed in shipping from China once or twice, and three times were opened, x-rayed and inspected as they came through customs and Homeland Security.  But now, the first batch of figures has arrived in the USA and should be in the DeJankins warehouse by the end of this week.

The importer cautioned that some items were shipped in reduced quantities (not sure what the reason was for that),

so it is very likely that some of these will quickly be out of stock.

Of course, customers with outstanding orders for these figures will be served first, but at this time there are no details on which pieces will be temporarily rare.

Keep checking the store!  When the items are highlighted in the spreadsheets, that means they are here, ready and waiting for you!

Exclusive Bullyland Spinophorosaurus

DeJankins will be importing two dozen of the Bullyland Spinophorosaurus figures from Urzeitshop.  Sculpted by Sven Kollhoff exclusively for the Naturhistorisches Museum in Braunschweig, the figure is made of the same sort of material as all the other Bullyland Museum Line figures.  It is about 7 inches long and stands nearly 3 inches tall.  If you’d like to get one, we will have them available, probably in February, for an estimated $17.50 each plus shipping.  This price is based on the current foreign exchange rate between the Euro and American Dollar and is subject to change based on that rate on the transaction date.

Since there will only be 24 figures in this order, they will be sold on a first come - first served basis.

Safari 2011 Releases

The big news right now is the announcement from Safari Ltd. which names the prehistoric figures they are adding to their various lines for 2011.  Almost all of these figures are first time collectible representations of these animals.

There are two new Toobs for next year – Prehistoric Sharks and Prehistoric Crocodiles.  Each toob has ten species included.  Though I have not yet found an official listing of their names, I have found a couple of “unofficial” lists.  They describe the figures as follows:

  • Prehistoric Sharks – Cretoxyrhina, Cladoselache, Edestus, Helicoprion, Hybodus, Ornithoprion, Orthacanthus, Scapanorhynchus, Stethacanthus, and Xenacanthus
  • Prehistoric Crocodiles – Champsosaurus, Chasmatosaurus, Dakosaurus, Dematosuchus, Euparkeria, Montealtosuchus, Postosuchus, Pristichampsus, Rutiodon validus, and Sarcosuchus

Safari is creating a new series for next year – their Prehistoric Landscapes collection.  There are three new plants for your prehistorics to munch on – the Agathis Conifer, Tree Fern, and Cycad.

For the Carnegie Collection – two newbies for 2011 – the long-necked Stegosaur Miragaia in 1:30 scale (almost ten inches long) and the Carnotaurus.

And perhaps the most exciting additions – five new figures in the Wild Safari line – Tyrannosaurus, Kaprosuchus, Guanlong, Inostrancevia, and Edmontosaurus.  The figures range in size from five inches to just over eight inches.

Of course, we’ll have these all as soon as Safari Ltd. begins shipping these items.  It will not be for at least another four months or more, but as soon as they arrive, we’ll let you know here at DeJankins.com!
